Donna Conwell

conwellDonna Conwell has served as Associate Curator of the Lucas Artists Program at Montalvo Arts Center since 2011. In that role she has organized over fifty exhibitions and public programs, and  supported artists in the realization and presentation of more than forty five new art works.  

From 2008 to 2011 she was a project specialist in the Department of Architecture and Contemporary Art at the Getty Research Institute where she organized the exhibition Farewell to Surrealism: the Dyn Circle in Mexico (Los Angeles, 2012; co-curator with Annette Leddy); and Overflow: A Reinvention of Alan Kaprow’s Fluids by the L.A. Art Girls, The Getty Center (Los Angeles, 2008; co-curator with Andrew Perchuk). From 2003 to 2006 she was an associate curator at inSite, a visual arts organization that commissions artists to create new work at the San Diego–Tijuana border. She also served as consulting curator for the inSite Archive Project and organized Wandering Position: Selections from the inSite Archive, Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporaneo (Mexico City, 2010). Donna has written for journals such as latinart.com, Getty Research JournalX-Tra, and exhibition catalogues. She is coeditor of the soon to be relaunched Lucas Artists Program blog Open Access.
